This tutorial will guide you through setting up a VPN connection on your Android phone. Using a VPN enhances your privacy, secures your internet connection, and allows you to access content that might be restricted in your region.

How To Setup Android VPN Connection

  1. Download VPNBook Configuration Files:
  • Head to the VPNBook website.
  • Download the OpenVPN configuration files. These files contain the necessary settings for connecting to VPNBook’s servers.
  1. Open Settings:
  • On your Android phone, open the “Settings” app.
  1. Network & Internet:
  • Tap on “Network & internet.”
  1. VPN:
  • Scroll down and tap on “VPN.”
  1. Add VPN:
  • Tap on the “+” icon or “Add VPN” option.
  • Enter the VPN details using the information from the VPNBook configuration files:
    • Name: VPNBook
    • Type: OpenVPN
    • Server address: (use the server address from the VPNBook file)
    • Username: vpnbook
    • Password: (use the password provided on the VPNBook website)
  1. Connect to the VPN:
  • After saving the VPN configuration, tap on the VPN you just added.
  • Enter the username and password again if prompted, and tap “Connect.”
  1. Verify Connection:
  • Once connected, you should see a VPN icon in your phone’s status bar. This indicates that your internet traffic is now routed through the VPN.
