Can You Sell IDPLR Products Without Editing Them?

IDPLR offers products under various licenses (Resale Rights, Master Resale Rights, Private Label Rights, etc.). If a product’s page shows “Can be sold: Yes,” you are legally allowed to resell it and keep 100% of the profits. In fact, IDPLR emphasizes that products with Resale or PLR licenses can be “sold, edited or even claimed as your own”. However, each product’s Terms section spells out exactly what you can and cannot do. For example, one IDPLR ebook’s terms show “YES: Can be sold” and “NO: Can modify/change the main product”, meaning you may sell it, but you must not alter its content. Always check the “Product Terms” on each IDPLR item page: it will tell you if you can edit the content or graphics, bundle the product with others, give it away free, etc..

  • Resale Rights (RR) licenses: You can sell the product as is (no changes), keep 100% profit, and usually package it in bundles if allowed. You typically cannot rebrand or edit RR only products (that is, “Can modify” will be NO).
  • Master Resale Rights (MRR): Same as RR, but you can also resell the resale rights to your buyers. (Check “Can convey and sell Master Resale Rights.”)
  • Private Label Rights (PLR): The most flexible. You may sell it, and you also may edit it, rebrand it, put your name as author, change the cover, etc.. (Of course, you could also sell PLR products without editing if you choose.)

In short, if your IDPLR product’s terms say you have RR or PLR, then yes, you can resell it “as is” (no editing needed). If it’s only RR, don’t edit it. If it’s PLR, editing is optional but allowed. Either way, you keep all revenue as long as you abide by the terms (for example, not giving it away for free if “Can be given away for free” is NO).

Pricing Guidelines

IDPLR does not forbid setting a price lower than the original vendor’s price, but it does recommend minimum prices to maintain product value. For instance, IDPLR’s store guidelines say that individual ebooks should not be sold below $1 (and multimedia products below $2). Those are suggested minimums to prevent a race to the bottom, they want the products to retain perceived worth. (These guidelines apply to selling via IDPLR’s own shop platform, but it’s good practice in general.)

In practice, you are free to choose your own price. If you set a lower price than the original author’s, that’s allowed by the license (there’s no rule against it), but beware of undercutting too much. Extremely low prices might devalue the niche and lower buyer confidence. A common strategy is to price at or above the $1 minimum and emphasize the value (or bundle multiple products to increase perceived worth). If you run special promotions or private offers, IDPLR notes you can go below those public minimums, but don’t publicly advertise excessively low prices.

Key points on pricing:

  • You set your own price for resold products. IDPLR simply suggests $1+ for ebooks.
  • You may legally charge less than the original price (the license doesn’t mandate a price floor).
  • However, consider value perception and any platform guidelines (see below).

Selling Platforms (Website and Gumroad)

You may sell IDPLR products on your own website or via other online stores, as long as the license permits selling. IDPLR does not restrict you to their platform; the rules are in the product terms, not the sales channel. So on your own site, simply ensure each product you sell has “Can be sold: Yes”. You can deliver the digital file, membership access, or whatever format the license allows (some products even permit selling through membership sites).

On third-party marketplaces, things get more complicated. For example, Gumroad’s policies generally prohibit selling digital content you didn’t create (even if you have a reseller license). In Gumroad’s help center it states you cannot resell products you didn’t create. If you try to sell raw PLR ebooks on Gumroad, you risk suspension. (This is a Gumroad rule, not an IDPLR rule.) IDPLR itself doesn’t explicitly forbid using Gumroad or Etsy, but many sellers find those marketplaces frown on unoriginal content. Our advice: If you use Gumroad or similar, consider repackaging the product (e.g. adding your own modifications or bundling) so it’s not a pure “as-is” resale. Otherwise, selling solely unedited PLR on Gumroad may violate Gumroad’s terms.

Similarly, selling on platforms like Amazon KDP has its own rules. Amazon generally rejects ebooks that are entirely PLR with no added value. So if you wanted to publish an IDPLR ebook on Kindle, you’d likely need to rewrite or expand it (and even then, it might be risky).

In summary:

  • On your own site: Fully allowed if license permits sale. You have control over pricing and presentation.
  • On Gumroad/Etsy/others: Caution. Check the marketplace’s policies. Gumroad specifically disallows simply reselling others’ digital products. Many sellers get around this by modifying or bundling PLR content.

Bundling and Multiple Sales

Bundling PLR products into packages is usually allowed and encouraged (it often boosts value). IDPLR product terms include a “Can be packaged with other products” flag. If it says YES, you can include that ebook in a bundle or package with other items (either your own or other PLR items). In practice, most PLR and MRR products on IDPLR allow bundling – it’s a common tactic to add bonuses or create large value packs. For example, the sample product above shows “Yes” under “Can be packaged with other products”.

So you can sell items individually or in bundles at your discretion. Bundling might let you charge a higher price per bundle and differentiate from the original. Just double-check the “packaging” term on each product: some (rarely) might not allow bundling. If bundling is permitted, feel free to combine multiple ebooks or mix media types. Bundles can be sold on your site or even via a membership (if the license allows adding to a paid membership).

Summary

As a lifetime member with access to IDPLR’s library, you’re free to resell any item for which you have Resell, MRR, or PLR rights, subject to that product’s specific terms. No special restrictions apply just because you’re a “lifetime” member, your rights come from each product’s license. In practical terms:

  • Selling “as is” (no edits): Perfectly fine for items with Resell Rights (RR or MRR); for PLR products you could edit them, but it’s not required. Check the “Can modify” term. If it says NO, keep it as-is.
  • Pricing: You can undercut the original price if you want. IDPLR suggests not going below $1 for an ebook (to avoid devaluing the market), but you’re not legally bound to match the original price. Use at least the minimum guideline and consider product value.
  • Website vs Gumroad: Selling on your own site is straightforward (just sell to end customers). Selling on Gumroad or Etsy is risky if you offer unmodified PLR, because their policies may forbid simple resales. If using Gumroad, it’s safer to have rebranded or bundled content.
  • Individual vs Bundles: Both are allowed if the product’s terms permit bundling. Many IDPLR items explicitly state you can package them with others, so feel free to create bundles of one or more ebooks.

Finally, always review each product’s terms on IDPLR. The site makes it very clear (with Yes/No answers) what you can do with that item. In summary, if the rights are granted (Resell or PLR), then yes, you may sell the ebook as-is for whatever price you choose (within those reasonable guidelines) and keep 100% of the profit.
